Mayor Proposes Solar Array For Landfill, Saving City Thousands In Costs
On Tuesday October 17th the Board of Aldermen heard a proposal brought forward by Mayor Ted Gatsas for a solar array on the city’s now defunct landfill on Dunbarton Rd. The solar array will save the city up to $130,000 in electrical costs for municipal buildings and other uses. The facts of the proposal needs to be vetted in committee and then voted upon by the full Board before being approved. This project is a first of its kind in the State and could prove to be a model for renewable energy going forward. The Mayor is to be commended for bringing forth such an innovative project.
